MASTERS OF DOUBLE SPEAK! PUZZLE OF LEADERS WHO SUPPORTED HOUSING LEVY IN UHURU'S REGIME BUT ARE NOW OPPOSING IT.

The Housing levy is currently the most talked about issue currently in our country Kenya.Leaders from both sides of the political divide appear to be taking sides based on their political leanings .Those in government now are the biggest defenders of the housing levy that is yet to be passed in parliament. Those in opposition are or should I say appear to be the greatest critics of the proposed levy. However , there are those in both government and opposition who supported the levy when former head of state proposed it. Luckily then , the proposed bill did not see the light of the day.

Reknowned human rights activists and public defenders went to court and challenged the bill. The likes of Okiya Omtatah , the current Busia senator led the fight.The Court in its wisdom ruled against the bill. This time however , it remains to be seen whether the Legislature will approve it.

Hopefully , the honourable members of the August house will arrive at a conclusion which will be friendly and considerate of the common 'mama mboga' and the 'nduthi' guys.
